Hey guys! It's 5.30am in the morning now and I've been awake trying to work on my PW. Read - trying. I bet the J2s are all secretly smiling to themselves now, glad to be rid of this useless burden. :(
So anyway, we've just come to the end of this season. Firstly, on behalf of the team, I would like to thank the KR Steppers for coming down weekly to help and train us. We've learnt a lot and are really thankful for you guys. Love you all! :D
Second, review;
Stunts-wise, we've definitely improved and learnt a lot more, credits of course, to the KR Steppers.
Flyers have brushed up on basic techniques, as compared to weeks ago when we were still trying to grasp the basics of elevators. Our basic elevators are still a little shaky though and we still got to work on it, so don't get complacent. Continue training on our core, arms and legs muscles cos' strong core, arms and legs will definitely help us accomplish our perfect elevator load-ins :)
As for the bases, most of the female bases have learnt to use their legs to blast off. Great job girls! Proud of you all:D However, don't get complacent too, as you girls need to be really strong yea? So keep working on those arms and legs! & guys too! Don't slack off!
So while we're all busy studying for promos, do your own conditioning exercises at your own time. Just short ones will do; Do 50crunches, 40push-ups and 30jumps minimum and try to go for jogs. Don't forget that training resumes right after promos, 5th October, and then, we have to really work ourselves for Open House already so we can't all be weak and back to square one. & yes, don't forget to stretch! Flexibility is one of the basic requirements of a Cheerleader so don't neglect it kay!
We've all improved for gymnastics, with help no less from KR too. Forward rolls are okay for nearly all of us now and we're now working on our pretty cartwheels^^ Those who are between square 5-7 stage with your knees bending every time you do a cartwheel, don't give up kay! Never give up! Keep trying and practising and I'm sure eventually, those knees would go straight and soon we'll all be able to do perfect cartwheels! Carmen, Bryan and Samuel are already progressing to round-offs! Good job you guys! >:] & finally, back-walkover. We've been taught it but we haven't actually succeeded in one yet. But keep stretching those backs and don't forget handstand techniques and I'm sure we'll be able to master it:]
We didn't work on jumps all season but the KR said they'll teach us next season so let's look forward to it! Toe touches and herkeys soon! ;D
Finally, dance. Lots and lots of thanks to Zhiting and Carmen for choreographing the dance! Well, we got to work on making our movements sharp! Sharp and neat and coordinated! & yea, got to familiarize ourselves with the steps, get them into our muscle memories.
Thirdly, Attendance issues. Personally, I feel attendance this term isn't so great. I understand that our MYE results have caused our studies to be a cause of worry and so some of us are missing trainings cos' of studies issues. With Promos round the corner, I understand. However, next season, I do hope everyone would be able to give in their all for trainings. Please try to come for every training and don't skip it for small reasons, however valid they may be. If you feel you are well enough, or whatever the activity that clashes with training can wait, please come for training. We should all know by now that every member is very important. Simply without a backspot, or a base partner, the stunt cannot be practised. So yup, I'd expect improvement in attendance next season! & yea I certainly hope to see the burning passion in everyone for Cheerleading.
Fourth, Comms.
Training Comm, good job! Keep it up! :D
Welfare Comm, great job on the recent outing too! Miss Tan showed up and so did about half of us so I guess it would be considered a success. Can't wait for the next one after promos!
Publicity Comm, nothing much this season, except for Yi Ying who has been working on IP Recruitment proposal. Go Yi Ying! (Hahaha suddenly thought of "Good Night!")
Next season, we'll need to start recruiting. Major recruiting. Guys, IP kids and before we know it, a new batch of Freshies. So hang on to your seats cos' we're gonna be holding another Bring-A-Friend day! & this time round, there has got to be more than A friend kay! So Publicity Comm's gonna be quite busy next season with posters and plans for recruitment and all. Everyone help out okay! Posters not easy to do, recruitment is difficult.
Ohyes, & our jackets are finally done! Very pretty I love it! Hahah but yah, a bit AA lah haha. In any case, thanks to all who made the jackets possible! :)
& yes, everyone please do pay up for whatever you owe kay! I know it's a hell lot to pay - coaching fees, cheer shoes and cheer jacket, all at one go. But just bear with it, cos' there won't be any more major collection of money for at least the next few months & Aug Cheer fund has been scraped. Of course, Cheer fund for subsequent months must still be paid. So sorry that we all have to pay so much! Those with problems, look for Puay Ying, me or MJ kay!
Okay this is it then. I'm done hahaha phew. I've typed quite a lot I think you guys find me naggy :P
All the best everyone for their promos! We'll all pass! Strike that, we'll all do superbly kickass well! Study hard. PLEASE. HAHAH.
& to our Seniors, jiayou for Prelims too! You guys can do it!
Cheers to all,
Perle
